Blockchain Technology

• It also leads to enhancing the transaction efficiency and cost savings of

transactions of certain kinds by increasing transparency, thus removing the

need for a trustworthy third party to verify certain statements and to pass

facts and proof of confidence based on consensus, resulting in greater trust

between communicating parties.

• The record itself, allowing proven proofs that can both be confirmed.

• Fraud avoidance due to improved audit trail disclosure.

• It helps organizations to integrate proof into the verification of the case or

event.

14.5  MANAGING CHAIN OF CUSTODY FOR

DIGITAL EVIDENCE: HYPERLEDGER

In every digital forensic analysis, CoC has a significant role to play, because during

its transit across multiple layers of hierarchy, it tracks any minute data on digital

information from the first respondent to the higher authority responsible for handling

the investigation of cybercrime. CoC documents facts like how, where, when and

who came into contact with the data etc. evidence was collected, analyzed and stored

for development. However, forensic CoC can be corrupted if it is not stored and

preserved adequately over the lifespan of digital proof, making proof of cybercrime

evidence inadmissible to the court of law. For the facts to be admissible in the case,

it is also necessary to maintain the credibility of the digital judicial CoC.

CoC refers to the recording process and to the maintenance of the chronologi

cal history of digital proof management. To defend CoC from unwanted modifi

cation or damage, exceptional caution is required. The ultimate objective of CoC

is to prove that the accusations are genuinely true for the suspected crimes rather

than evidence being wrongly planted. Poor CoC results in digital testimony being

inadmissible in court. Blockchain’s use case creation and depletion procedures are

relatively straightforward, and the production period is shortened dramatically from

months to weeks. One of Hyperledger Composer’s many benefits is that it is entirely

free, with a model of open governance that encourages anyone to contribute to the

project. Hyperledger Composer stands on and supports current Hyperledger Fabric

blockchain technology and running time to ensure that the transactions are verified

in compliance with the policy specified by the designated business network members

using the pluggable blockchain consensus protocol.

Hyperledger Caliper (GitHub – Hyperledger/Caliper: A Blockchain Benchmark

Framework to Measure Performance of Multiple Blockchain Solutions Https ://Wi

ki.Hy perle dger. Org/D ispla y/Cal iper, n.d.) is a blockchain performance appraisal

standards system and is one of several Linux Foundation host Hyperledger ventures.

Caliper enables users with a predefined series of software to evaluate the perfor

mance of various blockchain implementations and to produce reports with a set of

performance checks. The Caliper reports include a series of performance metrics

such as second transfers, transaction latency, resource usage, etc. Caliper’s exist

ing supports are Cloth, Sawtooth, Iroha and Composer-based blockchain solutions.

Hyperledger works Caliper in several steps. The planning process begins with the
